The ACVV is the oldest charity organization in south Africa. It was founded by Afrikaans Christian women from the Winelands area when women and children who were waiting to be incarcerated to concentration camps after the Anglo Boer War were awaiting ships at Green Point in Cape Town. These ladies supplied food and clothing to the impoverished suffering women and children.
Today, 119 years later, the ACVV continues to deliver services to those in need in communities across the board.– food, clothing and other material and emotional support. The focus however has changed to the PROTECTION of CHILDREN, not ignoring the importance of the family, aged and related fields requiring social services.
Many of our clients hail from farming communities and our efforts to uplift, educate, restore pride and confidence… never cease.
